SD stands for speed density and is normally done on forced induction or large cam applications. It deletes the MAF sensor and uses a 2 bar (or 3 bar if running over 15 psi) MAP sensor. This allows fuel to be added based on boost and atmoshperic pressure rather than just air flow across the MAF. In higher boost situations, the MAF sensor becomes maxed out and can't measure the amount of air coming across. A good tuner can still tune with this but it becomes more of a guess. Overall, SD is more accurate.

For most cam swaps, you won't need to go SD. It's usually just used when you are putting in something pretty nasty. High lift, lots of lope types. List the cam specs that you are wanting to go with.
