I have a 98 LS1 with a return setup. I have a Walbro from Allen. Which Aeromotive regulator do I need? I also plan on adding a Magnacharger if that matters. Can I mount the regulator between the pump and the motor on the pressure side? Thanks for any help. Ryan

This is what I used. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.a...mp;autoview=sku It would work better to mount it in the return line from the fuel rail to the tank. You can use it in the feed line but you will end up plugging off the return line on the fuel rail. In the return line will be better for FI.

Allen said the same thing. I dont understand why the return is better. I am used to carb motors. It seems to me iit needs to be regulated before the motor ever sees it. How can the return regulate the pressure side? Please explain. Thanks, Ryan

What is best about a return type system is that the fuel supply stays cooler. The fresh fuel runs all the way through the injector rails before deadheading at the regulator. When the fuel pressure builds up past the regulated amount it is returned to the fuel cell to join the rest of the cooler fuel.

It will work either way. The regualtor after the injectors will like Red said keep the system cooler due to the flow through of fuel, and the last injector will more likely see the same fuel pressure as the ones closer to the feed in line. A tiny bit of difference in fuel delivery on a forced induction engine will kill a piston quick. Mine is a dead head system since it is a 2002 setup.

Jeff, why not go ahead and do a return type system? You can buy the edelbrock fuel rails very reasonably, for under $200 you could completely convert it over to a flow thru system.

I was thinking about getting a set of fuel rails and doing that. I think I'll redo everything soon. It should look completely different.
