Dude you can buy a complete 5.3 with pcm and low miles from hi-way auto and have money left over for a cam and a tune from Allen.Hes familiar with the swaps. You would be surprised how good a 5.3 runs and better mileage than the 350....Just my Check out the swap section

That engine is at 700, unless someone at chevy truck world bought it. Personally man swap a newer engine in like stated above or install a 350 HO instead if you have the money. Not too much more money but a lot more horsepower. Just my 2 cents

1993 chevy, I would def look for a genIII motor. You can find it alot cheaper, than something from jegs.

i already have a 4.8 that i was planing to swap but that will cost 3,000 to install, and i thing it will cost me about 2,000 for the 260hp 350 which is just a little hard to turn down pluse that 350 has 350 pound feet of torque. i would have gotten a 5.3 but that would have cost me more money. thanks for the advice and keep it comeing. maybe someone can help me make the 4.8 a cheaper swap since i don't think i can get 1,000 out of it which is what i paid. please keep the advice comeing everyone.

How will it cost you 3 grand to install it? Plus, that engine from Jegs won't work with your stock intake, as it doesn't have center bolt heads...

A 6.0 is more effitient than the 350 and have more torque if that is what your worried about. Hav eyou ocnsidered a 6.0L swap?

if i go the truck ls1 i will just use the 4.8 i have and then latter get a 408 block to replace the 4.8 block. right now i just need power and good mileage. i already know that the 6.0 doesn't get great mileage, my grandpa's truck never gets better than 16 on the highway. even my 350 could pull that kind of mileage, not as much power but still. the 4.8 gets 18-22 mpg on the highway. but if anyone has any more suggestions keep them coming, i really do appreciate all the impute and advice, since i still haven't made any set decisions, if anyone has a suggestion on another engine to use you may be able to change my mind.
