    Thumbs up

I have a '99 Silverado 1500 with a 4.3L/4L60E 2WD and would like to swap in a 5.3L Vortec from an '03 Silverado. The 5.3L has the tranny, wiring harness, computer and accessories still attached. Does anyone know of any problems with that combination?

No, it should fit with no problems.

I just remembered, you could have some oil pan clearance issues but hopefully you won't.

If you go to a salvage yard or the dealer, tell them you want the V8 engine mounts and brackets and it will bolt right in. The V6 uses different brackets to mount the frame to the engine mounts than the V6 does so be sure you get the correct ones before you attempt to place the engine in the frame.

The deal on the '03 fell through but I did get ahold of a '00 complete and had the seller throw in engine, frame and tranny mounts. Thanks the info. I may have more questions as I do the swap and will post how things go.
