When we posted a topic about the 4.3 to 6.0 swap we were told to aquire some V8 motor mounts. If we were to then we would have to cut the old ones off the truck and weld the new ones to the frame right? Seems like a pain in the ass . Willl any of these work for the swap? JC Whitney

    Or these?

    Summit

They all seem to be for S10's. They say S Series. The truck We are doing it to is Silverado 1500 with factor 4.3.

Thanks for your input. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

on those jc whitney mounts, doesnt it say it fits motors from 262-350, and a 6 liter is like a 364 or whatever, would they work even though it stops at 350? or am i just totally reading it wrong.

It says up to 350. I think the 6.0 is like 370. But I thought it was basically the same block as a 5.3. SO then i would think it would work. I emailed them, but they havent responded. Thats why I posted this to see if anyone here knew what to do. We at a stand still untill we get this figured out

The problem with those are they are designed for the old school small block engines, not the GEN III LSx version engine your trying to put in. I'm not positive but I highly doubt that they have the same mounting hardware.

Look at this page and you can see that they clearly distinquish that there is a difference between the small block and LS1 mounts.

Don't know if you've read through this yet but I'm sure it will help you.

Looks like you'll just need to find yourself a set of 4.8/5.3 mounts. Not sure what the registers are that they are talking about.

4.8/5.3 mounts. Are you talking about the ones that mount to the engine or welded to the frame? They are the same as the 6.0 mounts. I already checked that out. I have to have some way to make the bolts be horizontal across. the b8 bolts kind of angle down. I will try and get some pics. I know it may seem confusing.

I would imagine both sides (engine & frame) but I'm not really the expert on this so I would suggest talking with Demon about since he has already done this exact project.
Actually the 6.0 mounts would be the same since I'm using the 5.3 mounts to hold up my 6.0.

Demon just started up a new thread pertaining to all of this over at GMFullsize.com. He seems to be on there a lot more. I would post up your questions here; http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57194

Nope, that's what I thought too until I saw the pics of the way they mount the NBS engines.
