what tranny do I have

hey guys, I have done an ls1 swap into my 2000 1500 2wd short bed, does this truck have the 4l60e? or something different, thinking of purchasing a stall....thanks alot

Also it was a 4.8 liter

yeah pretty sure it has a 4l60e, i think the 4l80e&#39;s were only in like the 2500&#39;s...

4l60e....also are you adding a shift kit and servos or beefing up the tranny? You might need to soon.

I actually had my tune man tune it, hoping it will hold, seems good right now. I am taking the tranny out tonight due to a rattling sound coming from the flywheel or torque converter. I bought this truck half way put together and i mean half ass... It is finally coming around, seems to run well, I added the zo6 cam and springs, got it shifting at 6400, limiter is set at 6600, it actually does need some stall so maybe when I get it apart and find my problem I may sneak one in there. I will definately go with one large enough to sneak a bump stick in it at a later date though. I am only familiar with ls1 cars, this is my first truck project so I figured I will learn as I go.....
