hey guys, brand new to the site and sure am glad i found the site. anyways, i have an 81 silverado lwb, all original, with 116k original miles on the 305. well the motor is beginning to act up, and instead of dumping hundreds into it just to get it back to stock, im wanting to do something more radical, like a mean ls1 conversion or some other power monster. i need some ideas on where to start, ill take some pics of the truck tomorrow to post up on here, but right now i just need a good idea on where to start the conversion.

Welcome. Check out GMCWantsLS1's truck. It's very similar to your's and makes some serious power through the LS1, plus it looks good doing it.

Sorry I deleted the PM but if you have the ability swaping in an LS1 or similer would be a great setup for your '82. Search around on this site and you will get a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about.
