Ok Im wanting to do a swap to a better engine with fewer holdbacks than the vortec 350 (manifold, rev limit), ect.). My friends friend is selling a LS1 out of a 2002 Camero with low miles for $2000 with 4l60e. I was looking though and I could get a LQ4 6.0 for a good price from ebay. Whats the specs of the two engines? Anyways i know Im going to have to fab up my own motor mounts, but where should I get my harness from? Also, will my 4l60e bolt up or would I have to swap it out for a newer 4l60e tranny? If that happens Im probally going to get a 4l80e.

Nelson Performance can build you a harness. I was there yesterday and saw one of the harnesses first hand, a quility looking piece of work. The original transmission can be used with a cranshaft spacer adapter. Contact Street and Performance at www.hotrodlane.cc for parts to adapt the engine and transmission or check Ebay for engine mounts and www.transmissioncenter.net for the trans adapter.

What should I search for on ebay to find motor mounts for my truck?

Thanks for the help so far. What about the specs of the LS1 and LQ4/9?

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you're going to spray some serious nitrous I'd go with the LQ instead of the LS engine because the cast block is stronger. I like the LS engine because it's lighter. Magazines report the LS1 as having 400 engine hp fresh out of the crate with no mods. I would suggest you start out with a few books about the LS1 before making your final decision on which engine to get. I bought mine on Amazon.com.

I would use the 4L60e from the donor LS1. I was told by a tranny builder that the the case is stronger & they are more high perf. than the truck trannies especially the V6 4L60e. It will bolt right in place, all you'll need to do is swap out the gear selector shaft with the one from your truck.
