I'm not dumb enough to believe that LOL! Your gonna put it on a stand in your garage, then think of what else you can do to that badboy, and when its all said and done, it will have been rebuilt 3 times before it actually goes in the truck!

Have you tried North Shephard? I called some of the salvage yards last year when I bought my LS1 and they were going for $2000.00 to $2800.00 with a 4L80E and very low mileage. I might still have the numbers if you're interested.

I don't understand the diff between the 6.0 and 5.3 prices. You find 5.3s all day long under $1000 but the best price for a 6.0 is $2000?

Well I am having a hard decision guys,I can get a 383 with forged piston and a forged steel crank and I think I am gonna hve to gothat route.I want it to be less of a headache ya know. With a 6.0 in my year model I have a feeling it will not be that fun to do,so I think I am goin the 383 route with forged parts and bowtie vortec heads with a ramjet.

I almost bought the Ramjet 502 for my 97 but I decided on and LS1 due to the gas prices and unlimited fun you can have with one. You're still gonna have to make harness mods and the gas mileage won't be as great. The zz383 would be a excellent choice with the Ramjet fuel injection for serious HP.
