Hi folks this is a great site, been watching for a wile decided to join.
I bought comp cams (54-412-11) cam and lifters (850-16) I know I will need valve springs 918 but not sure what else i will need? ie retainers ect.. This is going in my little 4.8L and i can't wait till spring to get it out. Thanks in advance for any help.
4.8L reg cab short box. 4:10's auburn locker, knn intake, flowmaster catback,short headers,roll pan,hypertech,160 thermostat, 8mm taylor wires,2"rear drop 20" wheels cam,lifters rods,springs and a custom tune to come. Who know after that.
Welcome,Titanium ret. won't hurt but not totally necessary(I would), I would definitely get beefier pushrods
What are the specs for that cam, they don't show them on comp's site?

You're Quick, I bet the ladies tell you that to LOL. Sorry couldn't resist. Are you sure about the springs? not to doubt you but I read that the 918 were the recommended spring?? Will comps high tech 5/16 7.400 rods work? part # (7955). Sorry to pick your brain but I want to get this in.

Sorry for the late reply, that's what's recommended because you're running a mid lift cam but I'd install the 918's just to be safe. Yes, the 7.4 rods are correct also.
