Thread: ls1 intake on a votec

    will a intake off of a ls1 vette, camaro or TA bolt on to my 2001 6.0?
    Project: 91' short wide:
    GMC front end update with billet grille and all clears, 17x8 & 17x11 Torq Thrust II's
    5/7 drop, almost totally shaved and 93 Deville tails
    Future Plans: 2001 LQ4 6.0L & a T-56

    DD: 98' 5 speed GT : Dumped Exhaust, CAI

    yes it will fit but the trottle body opening sits lower and will likly interfere with the accesory drive system and you will need to convert over to a ls1 accesory drive.

    IMO it will not be worth the upgrade, you have a pretty good intake there already. If you are going for LS1 intake why not go LS6??

    You,ll need a ls1 fuel rail. You may have to change inj. and conectors also.
    Some 5.3L and 6.0L have shorter inj.
    We put ls1 42lb inj. on a 5.3L and had to put spacer where the fuel rail bolted for the added hieght of the ls1 inj.

    ah thanks...are there any good aftermarket intakes for the LQ4 motors? or any recomended parts that will be worth the price? im buying headers and probably pullies and custom fab a CAI of some sort

    88-98s w/ LS1 type engines don't have long tubes available. You can buy a set of Hookers headers for the OBS and buy a set of LS1 flanges and have them married, maybe. Mid lengths are available from www.hotrodlane.cc or shorties can be used(save your money). Long tubes from a 99+ will not work. It has been tried.

    i pLaned on just using a set of shorties..i dont want clearance problems at all
