    1201MAX Randy

I have a few questions. First off I bought a 5.3 LS motor to stick in my 52 Chevy RatRod. I am going to carburate it and put a MSD box to control the coils, I have shorty headers on the way and am looking at my next move. What I want to do is put in 1.8 rockers cause at this point I will not be porting the heads or doing a cam. My 52 Rat Rod is very light as it has a tube racing frame so a bunch of HP wont be needed. When I got the truck it had a 1973 350 with a 4barrel that put out 155hp from looking up the Block and Heads on it, the LS I have is out of a 1999 gmc sierra and from what I looked up should put out 270HP and 330Torque.Any help with what I need to install the 1.8 rockers would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Randy

if you install 1.8 rockers you may also need to upgrade your stock valve covers for clearence.

I have been doing some research and from what I seen you can get by with stock valve covers. I question the springs and push rods though.

52 Chevy Truck? Post some pictures. What frame are you running to mount that 5.3 to? Trans?

The frame has a camaro/nova subframe and tube frame the rest of the way back, stock car racing frame. It has a Turbo350 trans and Ford nine inch diff (open carrier). I have to modify where the motor will mount as it will sit back quite a bit in the subframe, there was a sbc 350 in it originally. I put a couple pictures in an album on my profile, cant figure out how to put it in the thread yet.
