new guy from TX with a project thats about to be a bon fire

Be nice to the newbie..... figured with my first post I might as well ask a ton of questions..... been lurking for a while but haven't been able to stumble across any of the "right" answers. already have a truck 4.8 and 4l60e putting into a 98 2wd 2 door hoe.

I was going to make my own mounts/adapters but now that ive gotten that far into it am thinking I'll order the dirty dingo ones(seems best quality for the$).

My biggest fitment issue so far is the low mount a/c... will not work, no matter how much I cuss and want to throw things, it just isnt going to happen, so who makes a good relocation bracket for the denso compressor? or does one even exist? everything I seem to find is for the other style(name escapes me at the moment)

I'm also looking for headers that will not hang below the frame( herein lies a special problem) my frame is close to 3" shorter than normal@ the trans xmember and the front has been z'd to stock floor body drop it.

also looking for suggestions for the wiring? I know there quite a few sources for repining.... if you have gone that way would you again? if you had a completely gutted truck with endless possible directions would you go bare minimum to make the ECM and engine run, and do another separate body harness? and then what to do for collum/key switch.

    what i started with

semi cleaned up for the Z

    more recent pic

no pics of the current shape its in unless i get ina better mood about it tomorrow and decide to continue working on it..... case of the mondays anyone

Ac can be accomplished, here's a '93 we did.

use shorty headers, with the 4.8L and shorty's, vs longtubes, you're really not going to miss that few hp.

if you're interested in a stand alone harness, we make a very nice show quality harness.

holley has a shallow pan you can use, or use the 2002 oem fbody pan.

thanks Farmtruc, i have looked at yalls site, little more $ then i have/want to spend on a harness at this point in time.. but is an option later. As far as the a/c and cutting the frame up, i looked at, measured and might go that route if i cant find anything else, just really didnt want to because i JUST base/cleared it after completing the Z and didnt want to have to disassemble everything and repaint unless that was the only last ditch option.

Ive read good and bad about the holly pan, as far as the casting being junky/cheap.

    Thanks again for the input.
