    oil pressure gauge

    I put a 5.3 in my 1997 obs

    Im using the factory harness
Im stumped on why is my oil pressure gauge doesnt work

I know I have oil pressure because I checked it with a mechanical gauge
According to the wiring diagram the tan wire is for the oil pressure gauge
    I replaced the sensor
Also my voltage gauge isnt working

    What am I missing?

Which oil pressure sensor did you use, the LS or your old sensor?
Also what factory harness are you using, stock 97 or LS?

Hmm. The oil pressure wiring and the alternator wiring shouldn't have even needed to be messed with during the swap. I assume they were working prior to the swap. There must be something left unplugged or something.

Here is the wiring for the oil pressure switch I found in an older thread. Does the fuel pump come on with the key?
Also did you remember to hook up the wires going through the passenger side of the fire wall behind the glovebox?

TAN - goes to oil pressure gauge on your cluster
ORANGE - +12v going to one side of contacts on switch
GRAY- comes off of other side of contacts of switch and goes to fuel pump

I had that problem when I did my swap in my 1992. I don't remember the wires but I disconnected a fuel pump(I think gray) wire going to the oil pressure gauge that I thought I didn't need but I had to reconnect for the fuel pump and oil pressure gauge to work. The voltage gauge on mine I connected the wires from old alt going to the bolt on back of alt to the new alt and everything worked. Your wiring could be different since yours is newer.

I read that all I needed was the tan wire for the oil pressure gauge
Im going to reconnect the wires that I cut going to the oil pressure sensor
I hope that will get the gauge working
