So what are most folks doing for linkage when swapping a LQ4 and 4L80 in a 94 sbrc. I have the stock non cable linkage rigged to work somewhat but the clocking is off for the indicator.
Thanks

The "clocking" is adjustable. It is cable mounted to the shift handle collar. It can be slid along the circumference of the collar to get the indicator to line up with the letters/numbers in the shift indicator.
When I swapped my engine/trans in, I used the original bracket mounted on the old 4L60E. It had to shorten it in depth to accomodate the shift switch mounted on the new trans.

You should be able to adjust the shift position a bit in two places.
1) You can play with the attachment points on the shift linkage
1B) You can reef on the shift rods and puts slight bends into them to align the shift needle to gear position
2) You can play with the little nylon wire that goes between the shift bowl on the column and the gear indicator.
