    '92 C1500 5.3 and 5 speed (don't stone me)

I know there are several threads/topics on this exact swap, and I've read them all along with many others countless times, but can never directly find answers to my questions, so here goes.

    1. I'm converting my 5.3 harness to stand alone using lt1swap.com, which an external fuse block is constructed.

    2. My factory oil pressure, temp, alternator, engine grounds, a/c, wiper motor, starter wires stay in place. Is there anything else? I should leave my fuel pump power/relay wires in tact and not run the fuel pump wire from the 5.3 PCM, correct?

    3. Which wires need to be ran inside the cab and connected to the white/clear connector behind the glove box? Tach, TCC brake switch (I'm not sure what this is, but do I keep it if I'm deleting cruise control?) Does the park/neutral signal need to be kept since I have a manual transmission?

    4. The VSS wires are simply spliced into my factory wires in my trans tail housing? What all has to be done for the speedometer to read properly? Will the reverse lights still work?

Sorry for so many questions, and posting yet another thread, but I'm going crazy reading through and trying to find everything. I just pulled my 305TBI last night, and ready to get the ball rolling.

That would be great, and although they aren't exactly synonymous, I'm trying to do this swap on a budget.. Even with a custom built harness, there is still integration that has to be done, from what I've seen? Getting my harness to be stand alone and get rid of the junk I don't need isn't the problem.. I've already done it.

http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/searc...searchid=42290 Here is some speedometer stuff. For temp sensor I used the Camaro 3 wire temp sensor and wired my gauge to that so I wouldn't need to have 2 temp sensors. One for pcm and one for gauge. This way #8 cylinder is easier to work on. http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/lsx-t...or-wiring.html If your looking for headers Schoenfield are the ones I used. The alternator I used the 5.3 pcm to control alternator and connected red wire from old alternator to new alternator and eliminated the control wire from truck. My alternator gauge works. I used the trucks original oil pressure gauge on 5.3 with a pipe adapter so it will thread in. My truck is a 5 speed and the clutch safety switch works like it used to. I connected the white tach wire from my distributor to the new pcm. You may need to do a program change to get tach to work correctly mine works perfect.

Thank you, sir. I appreciate the information. Very helpful. I've already bought the S&P adapters for oil pressure and to run the "extra" temp. sensor in the cylinder head, as you were stating. I also have the Scheonfeld headers sitting in the box! So, you left the clutch safety switch untouched and it still functions as it used to? That's great. Also, there is no need for the fuel pump wire from the 5.3 PCM, correct? The speedometer link you posted above doesn't work, so what did you do for yours and the VSS?

Do an advance search in this forum and search speedometer titles. http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/lsx-t...eedometer.html My harness was already setup for stand alone and the fuel pump wire i connected to the new harness. I came off the fuel pump fuse under the hood. Just so you know the fuel pump power on the truck is connected to the oil pressure sendor. I left it that way so if i lose oil pressure my fuel pump will shut off and kill the engine. I think i fixed the link so give it a try. It just worked for me.
