    Blue puff the magic dragon.

Hey guys I need your thoughts on this. We bought an 08 Suburban a few months back that as of know has 41k on it. I noticed a low oil knock on startup before I changed oil in July and it started again last week. When I checked the oil there was none on the stick. It was service regularly but sat a lot. I cranked it after setting over night and watched the rear side view mirror and seen a small blue puff of smoke. So I am thinking maybe the valve stem seals are dried up? I have replaced these on 90s chevys with that problem but just want your input on this. Thanks

the cold engine noise could be a faulty lifter and that could possibly cause oil consumption

I would think if it was the pcv it would smoke more than one puff from sitting over night and the knock only happens when the oil level is low. I am just thinking the valve stem seals have gone bad since it only seems to do this at startup. I appreciate your replies from you guys, I just needed someone else's opinion than my own before I put seals in it.Thanks
