2001 chevy k1500 z71

im new to chevys so i know almost nothing about them...sad i know lol
anyway i have a 2001 chevy 1500 short bed 5.3 liter the transmission is out but i dont not know what transmission is in it to replace it and if there is anything i can do to beef it up any help would be great so thanks for your time and help with this problem

Google 60e to 80e swap. You have a 4L60e trans right now which is among the weakest of any truck. You can get an 4L80e from a gas 3/4 ton truck. The 80e in stock form will be much stronger than the 60e without needing any upgrades and isn't a difficult swap.

The 80e swap can be done for under $1k that's pretty cheap for a major upgrade.
