    '90 RCSB LS3 Swap curiosity

So, as the title says; I'm curious about an LS3 swap into a 1990 K1500.

From what I've read I'll need to do some work to make the transmission fit right, but I have no idea where to begin on making the AC and other accessories work.

I'm not concerned about gauges, because I'll be installing all new ones custom in the truck.

What I'll be looking at is an L92/LS3 out of a Denali or Escalade with the Engine/Trans/AWD Transfer Case/ECU/Wire Harness.

I take it that your truck is already a 4X4. The engine mounts would have to be 1" setback. That puts the transmission back where it should be provided it is the same dimensionally as what the truck originally came with. Since you are going with an Escalade or Denali drivetrain, some measuring of the trans/transfer case from the bell housing face to the cross member mount would be prudent. Compare that measurement with what is already in the truck. If the measurement is the same, then the 1" setback mounts apply. If the measurements are different, then you must figure that in with the mounts.

I would make sure you get the driveshafts as well to be able to compare them too. You may have to juggle locations to make the driveshafts work with the crossmember location since that is generally not moveable, i.e., drilled for one location only.

As for the A/C, check this link out. I did it with my 6.0 and it works great.

The alternator will mount will be on the new engine(hopefully).

    Here's a couple pics of my '93 with 6.0.
