    New guy in Afghanistan... Errrr

Wait I am currently in Afghanistan, however I reside in Indiana. I just purchased a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3. My plans were to remain stock and be a nice dail driven commuter, well as a gear-head... I always make myself that promise. Unfortunately, I have friends who work in the automotive community and I cannot stop myself from building either my vehicle or some sort of guns.

Anyway, long story short I should be home around June and well... Let's just say RPM Transmissions is just north of me and I have a friend who works there. Then, just south of me, there is another friend who is a fabricator by trade and he LOVES turbos!

Anyway, I look forward to reading more on this forum and learning more about these trucks.

I'd rather keep the enemies head down! Thanks, not trying to sound like a prick... just making light of the situation.

The more I read around this site, and the more I already know about the 5.3... I want to turbo my truck! I buy it, thinking it will be a great family hauler and comfortable. Now, I keep thinking to myself "My little guy is going to become a gear-head at a young age!"
