Spacer between engine and accessory brackets on front of 6.0

I was wondering why my truck has a spacer plate between the acc brackets and the engine? There is only one of them, and it is almost an inch thick with 3 holes in it that goes behind the alternator/power steering acc. It is trianglular shaped

No it came out of a 2wd 3/4 truck. It was a spacer for an aux air compressor...i tried taking it off because its ugly but then it throws the belt alignment off?
