Thread: 85 c10 lq4 swap

    85 c10 lq4 swap

    so i finally picked up a 6.0 for my 85 c10 put it is just a short block so no heads and i am trying to figure out what set of heads i was to go with i and just building a street machine so i am open to any suggesting

    does it has flat top or dish pistons? best oem head would be 243 or l92 heads. if you dont want over 11.0 c/r then dont get l92/ls3 heads. ifs its lq4(dish) get 243 heads and mill them 030 or so if lq9 (flat tops) just bolt them on!

    Throw in some ls7 lifters while your there from gm $135
    Get some 243 heads and get em milled .30 add u a nice 228/230 range cam and it will be a nice street truck capable of 12s

    If your budget isn't too tight add the trunion upgrade for the rockers adn the LS7 lifters like chevrolade mentioned. Then get a cam with hardened push rods and matching springs. Bolton some milled 243s and go to town. A well built stock bottomend LQ4 can make over 450rwhp.

    well i work at a machine shop so i am not to worried about the bottom end we just dont know any thing about the heads we haven't built enough of these yet is been all stock stuff
