    Driveshaft issues- 6.0/4l80e/4x4

My driveshaft fits, but its clearance in the transfercase is too close for comfort. When I am in the dunes I dont want it to preload and jam itself in the tcase...I expected to have this problem since the 4l80e had to be moved back 2" to the other slot holes in the frame, but I was wondering what some of you guys have done. I am using my 1/2 driveshaft, but i have the rear end part converted to work with my 3/4 ton 14 bolt. Id prefer not having one made i was hoping either i can buy a shorter slip yoke or maybe just use a different driveshaft out of a 3/4 ton?

Yesterday I went and looked at a whole bunch of difference driveshafts....couldn't find anything good. For the front driveshaft, it looks like a '84-'87ish front shaft is the correct length, but the yokes/u joints are smaller. So today I am going to take my front driveshaft and "customize" it to fit...if it doesnt work it wont be a loss because it doesnt fit anyway lol. Ill keep you guys updated, and let me know if anyone knows what shaft would work in the rear

    Rear Driveshaft

Does any know what driveshaft to use for a 6.0 4l80e swap in a 94 ext cab short box?

I have looked at tons of them and they are all too short. Id like to find a steel one thats too long so i can get it shortened, or find a 2" shorter aluminum one

On my truck I got lucky and found a driveshaft from a OBS 3/4 ton with the 4l80e. I think I had to have a little bit takin off it to get it to fit. I'm not sure how far my trans is set back from the original as I made my own motor mounts. Also my rear shaft I took and had it cut down.

Was it steel, Aluminum, or The aluminum with the black plastic wrapping around it

Steel. Both of my drive shafts are steel. Of course my truck is not lifted like yours so I'm not sure how much longer or anything yours needs to be.

I have my stock one in there and its too long (even though its lifted). Im guessing you just got lucky finding a steel one out of a OBS 3/4ton truck. I have not seen a single steel one at the junkyard they are all aluminum with the crappy plastic wrapping.
