5.7 LT to 6.0 conversion in 1997 C1500 extended cab.
I've been researching doing an LSX conversion for a couple of years now, and since my truck just reached 315,000 miles, I'm getting more serious about it. My research has led me to the 6.0/4L80E. I want to keep the driveability and get better mileage than the 15 hiway I'm getting now. I see what mods need to be made to the crossmember, but I have a two piece driveshaft. What happens there? Do I go to a one piece? Is there another driveshaft say out of a Suburban that will work? If anyone has done this and has some answers, I would appreciate the input. Also, what internal mods such as a cam or heads can I do to the LS2 to get some extra torque/horsepower without sacrificing driveability and mileage? This is my baby, my daily driver. Thanks.
