    Finally Gave in

    Hey all,
New guy from Cali. Used the site for research for a long time to figure out which engine mods were worth the money and get ideas from other truck owners. The AWD swap for us 4X4 folk having been bookmarked for awhile. Gave in after the T-case gave up the ghost a few nights back.

The truck is an 02 Silverado. Bare bones 4X4 single cab shortbed with a 5.3. Was going to make a slightly lowered road race style truck with it as there are a lot of canyons around here but If I get a 4X4 case I will probably go the lift route like I had originally intended. Also planning to experiment motor wise and see how much horsepower I can get out of it and still be Cal Smog Legal. Planning on some form of forced induction.

Most sports require one ball, motocross requires two.

Racing isn't a matter of life and death, it's much more important than that.

Welcome. Just smog it in another state and keep it registered in that state. I will have AZ plates for life. (No smog or safety in the county I am registered in and I don't have to renew my license until I am 65! Boom!)

    Thanks everyone.

@Jess. Where abouts? Looks like you're into the pre runner scene with your avatar. That all being said you and I may both be on the central coast.

@Kerrige. What county? I have some family in AZ. I used to keep all of my trucks registered in plumas county (nor cal) but I dont talk to that side of the family and Payed a pretty penny just to get my 78 smogged.

Basically outside of metro Phoenix and Tucson you are good to go. Can do almost everything online or by mail. Go to the DMV in Littlefield AZ outside of Vegas. No lines ever and very helpful employees more than I can say for the big ones in Phoenix.

@Jess: Central Coast. Pismo Beach area. Santa Maria to be exact but Pismo is about a 25 minute drive for me. I was living in Chico for awhile and did some work in the Delta so I know about the Tracy area.

@ Kerrige. Something I may very well consider looking into. A lot more power potential when I am not staring that sort of thing in the face. Less money too when your not paying big bucks for a silver stick that says "C.A.R.B. Exempt Number ___________"
