OK, here is the deal...I found a truck today, specifically a 00 4.8 2wd RCSB, 97K miles, good tires, very clean, hard tono(sp), nice truck. The guy is asking 8K.

I own a 92 RCSB with a 4.3 V6 180k miles that I paid way to much for (4500), the truck is very tight, and insurance is very cheap. I was starting to piece together a 6.0 swap, and priced it out at about 4k when all is said and done (someone tell me if I am way off on my esstimate given 800 for the engine and 300 for the tranny)

So it breaks down to should I sell my V-6 and get the 4.8 or should I swap the 4.3 for a 6.0L and go from there. If you throw out the drive train in the two trucks it comes to things like
92 Pro's
PW/PL
Parental Support
Tight Steering and Braking
Condition/VS Age
Weight (i think)
92 Con's
Amount of money going into the truck before I will begin to be happy
Color
Funny Smell on interior

00 Pros
No swap to "work out" (going to a 6.0 in that would be easier than in the 92)
Style (personal pref)
Color
Hard Tono(sp)
Less Critical Objectives (stereo, 6.0L, wheels/tires)
00 Cons
Upfront Cost
The "I told you so" clause (parents)
4.8L's tend to pop easily (from what I heard)

Someone please help
