1992 4X4 Blazer Build

So this is my build thread. Ill be starting the swap tomorrow...
Its a 1992 K1500 Blazer. Stock 350 TBI with almost 250000 miles on it and the 700r4
It will be getting a LS 5.3 from a 2005 Avalanche and a shiny new 4l60e Nelson performance tune and custom harness
Ill keep it updated and answer any questions I can feel free to comment

Stated ripping today. Made pretty good progress!







Have most of the old wiring harness laying on the floor now. My question is where do I begin to edit it? I still need it to control headlights and AC, ABS, 4x4, and whatever else I missed.
So do I just start chopping what I don't need off by the ecm? or is there a different way of doing this? do I even have to use the old ecm for anything?
Im gonna dive through the service manual tonight and see what I can find out. Don't know when ill start modifying the harness. But anywho..

You do not need the old ecm for anything. The new PCM just needs power, it controls the trans and engine. The gauges read from the sensors on the engine.

So the air conditioning is all separate from the ECM?? What about abs?

Got my engine out yesterday. Now jsut waiting for some more parts to arrive and trying to clean out engine bay. 20 years of tar and grease anyone got a miracle way to get it out?

pay someone with a steam cleaner to come over and wash it for you, worth the money. Be sure to spray paint all bare metal when done before it starts to rust, the cleanup job with remove the factory parafin protectant on the steel. POR15 works great to preserve the metal.

Still worried the 4x4 isn't going to work out since the transmission is from a 2wd avalanche. :/ anyone got a fix or suggestion in getting the new 2wd tp mate to the old NP241 t case?
