    Which Head Gaskets?

im about to do a head gasket change on my 5.3L.
got a weeping pass. side gasket and its time to pull them.

Would you guys recommend the Cometic (spellcheck) or the factory GM?
    ive been getting conflicting stories.

While im here, i will be adding the FAST 102MM cathedral port intake and 92mm throttle body as well as ARP head bolts. (daddy's gotta get something out of all this effort!!)

Let me know what you think gentleman.

I just used factory GM gaskets.

I always wonder why people spend the money they do for the 102mm intake and then choke it down with a 90mm or 92mm TB. IMO why add the 102mm intake without a 102mm TB? why not just add the TBSS/NNBS style intake and do a 90mm TB for WAY less money?

I got them on a helluva song so i couldnt pass it up. And i wasnt sure about the 92/102 combo, but i figure, on a 2000 5.3 with stock intake and tb, it will be a night and day difference!!

Yes it will be an improvement, but with a smaller TB than the opening of the manifold you're NEVER going to get the full potential of the combo. Just my

Should at least quiet it down a little and be some nice insurance.

Pay attention to if your heads have notches in them or not. This will also make head gasket selection harder.
