5.3 swap into 98 w/t info wanted

hey guys, i've been reading through these forums for a long time now and they have really helped out. so i finally decided to become a member.
Now i have done some searches on doing a ls swap, but i havent really found any topics covering a swap with a manual tranny. What i got currently is a 98 short box 2x4 work truck that has a tired 4.3 with a freshly rebuilt 5 speed. i read something about having to run the 4.8 manual tranny flywheel and having to get mount adaptors but i want to know if their is going to be any other hang ups or anything i should know (electrical, mounting, etc). i also was wondering what you guys would recommend for gear ratios. currently it has 3.42's. if their is anything else i should know please let me know and thanks for your help.
oh by the way the motor i got for the swap is 99 5.3 that had a auto tranny but the guy kept that.

hey welcome to the site. ive got a 92 with a carbed 5.3 and a th350 tranny so i wouldnt be able to help much with the tranny questions but some advice is do research before each step in the build, if you do that it will be a breeze. for motor mounts i would go with the trans-dapt mounts, i used those and they worked perfect and everything lined up nice. power steering lines will hook right up without a problem. if you dont plan on doin headers the factory 5.3 manifolds will fit but you will have to have a good exhaust guy that can work with real tight clearances. and for gauges you can make most them work. hope some of this helps. pm me with any other questions and ill try to help ya out! good luck man itll be a sweet truck when done!
