    Talking 6.0 into 1997 StepSide

5.7Stepside: I am on board with ya, I am getting ready to do a 6.0 into my 1997 4X4, I bought it with a blown 5.7, I then installed a TPI 327, lost the water pump, fried the motor so blasted quick. WoW!! any way when taxes get back I am purchasing a 6.0, already have the '411PCM, and program for the setup. I am a metal bender as a hobby, you can see one of my creations here http://www.flickr.com/photos/tinbend...7615870852729/ the only EX-CAB 53 Willies in the world, and I built it, in 17 months. As such I will be Creating most of the stuff I need to complete this. planning on attempting the building a better AC mounting system for this swap. please document as much as you can. and we can share notes. If you have an issue that I could Possibly build an answer for you, please let me know. Or if I find an issue I'll let you know. cool?
to answer your questions, the stock Vortec pump will work, someone said that we will need a corvette inline regulator?? and as far as I can find out you do not need the setback mounts unless you want to move trans and build new drive shaft as well. why are you changing the injectors? flex plate kit here http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P2399C120.aspx
I am not following you on the trans and headers issue, please explane more and maybe a picture?? I think the LS will bolt right up to the stock trans??? not sure, I'll check it out and get back to you.

Looks good. The engine will bolt up to your original 60e transmission using the 80e flexplate after elongating the bolt holes a little, do that before putting it on the engine. You're going to like the new powerplant in there but the modding has just begun.

the pump in my '97 can push 80psi, I know because I jacked the regulator on the TPI all the way up to see what it could do, I would double check your actual pressure, as ALL Vortec's are regulated at 60psi, this was a major issue on my TPI. (never got it worked out, as stated earlier she is fried) if you are pushing only 35psi, you need to find out if the regulator is bad or if it is indeed the pump
