    Caltracs vs. longbars?

Ok guys ive noticed that some guys (including one of my friends with a cummins) are starting to run longbars rather than caltracs. I plan on building a set, but im not sure which ones yet. The longbars for me would be easier but if they dont work as good Ill make a set of caltracs.
So mainly my ? is what is the difference in the 2?

Basically Cal-tracs work by using axle wrap to push back down on the springs, long bars just don't allow axle wrap.

the reason your cummins buddy is using long bars is because all the cummins guys use them and the reason is because thats whats used for sled pulling, the longer the bar you can get the better, where as for the track you want a shorter bar

edit* thats tboth traction bars caltracks are a little different like french said

When it's actually warm enough again I'm building a set of bars for mine, that way I can just take them on and off when I go to the track or when the truck is Saturday night special mode. I was trying to think of a way to have a shackle in the front of them so they wouldn't bind and then have a way of locking them solid when I need them and came up with a couple ideas. Just have to see
