Having Steering Shaft knock come back after replacing the burdensome borgenson piece?
Check your Adapter and Bearing Assembly. It is the white plastic thingy at the bottom of the steering shaft tube. {where your stinky feet are} If you can rock it, it is worn and could be causing the knock. It has small ribs that are supposed to hold it tight. When they wear out it allows the adaptor to move in the tube.
You can buy a new one or tape it up to snug it up. I dropped the borgenson to check the bearing inside the adapter. There was a burr on the shaft, file it smooth, then pry it out with a screw driver. Tape it up, using electrician's tape, put only two layers on the top end, I clamped a vise grip on the shaft when reinserting it to provide a leverage point.
