    coolant

Is there a specific coolant for an '06 4.8L? I'm pretty sure it's the orange dex-cool but I'm not sure if there are any variations of the orange dex-cool. Maybe a stupid question, yes, but I'd rather not ask the dudes at VatoZone or any equivelant of VatoZone.

dont have your answer but I'm pretty sure orange or green are your options. I have herd that dex-cool is the lesser of the two, i think its less harmful, better for the environment and better for dogs to drink. jk, but at the expense of not protecting the water pump seals, corrosion protection ect. Do you know if there is any truth to this.

I manage a vatozone...dexcool is what you had originally 99% of coolant sold nowadays is "all make all model" its usually a yellow color. It'll work, but will look kinda fugly if you mix it. Just get the dexcool. It's like a dollar more and pretty orange. Prestone brand. Walmart brand. Autozone brand. All the same crap, especially for guys like us, who probably change it every year when we have motor apart.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

There is some truth to the myth. I seen plenty of damage done by dexcool in previous years. All makes all modes FTW!!!
