    NEED HELP! 98 C1500 4.3l swap with???

    Im looking to swap out my 1998 chevy c1500 with either some LQ (LQ4, LQ9) or an LS base motor. What motor do you sugest would be the easiest/cheapest route to take? Im 16 budget is TIGHT.

    This swap is probably going to cost you a couple of grand regardless what route you go. The cheapest LS based motor you can get is the 4.8. A relatively low mileage 4.8 can be had for under 500 dollars all day long. Look at spending 500-800 on a 5.3 and 800+ for a 6.0. As far as ease of swap, they are all basically the exact same swap.

    ^Exactly. Expect to shell out at least 2 grand. At least. You can add up all the major components and it doesn't come close but tiny cheap stuff and LOTS of it is always the killer. My advice, deal with the 4.3 'til you at least get out of school and get a good solid income.
