    Lifter noise

I guess some of yall know what I'm talking about, my 5.3 has it and its about to drive me crazy! My wifes truck has it also but not as pronounced and her truck is bone stock, I guess my headers allow me to hear it more. Anyway a friend was telling me that if you swap em to ls7 lifters that this will quite em down. Has anyone heard of this? Or does anyone have any other suggestion? Thanks

LS7 lifters can be pretty damn noisey. The best ones for quiet are the Caddy race lifters.

Try some Lucas additive in the oil, usually quiets it down a bit.

You said you had headers, so Im wondering if it's possibly an exhaust leak? That can sound like noisy lifters too. Ticking like a noisy injector?

I had a distinct tick before I ever put the headers on my truck. It's always been there since the say I bought it. The old screwdriver says it comes from the passenger side.

Mine have their moments, but have been generally quiet. They sound pretty smooth when the motor is up to temp

Both of ours had the tick, and both were bought brand new. And your correct its on the right side, I guess if it aint broke dont fix it. thanks for the input
