    Cam Advise

I have an 06 Silverado Crew Cab 5.3. Mods are K&N CAI, Magna Flow exhaust, Diablo Performance with 93 octane and 305/40/22's. I think i have a 3.23 rear and its a turd off the line. I was wanting to put in a cam in and everything is stock. It is my DD and on the highway i'm getting 21mpg's. I do pull a small trailer occassionally. Would a 265 be the way to go? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Looking all this up will make you go crazy.

Just be patient my friend. More research will help choose the cam you want. With those 3.23's you are being held back alot. Go with 4.10's and you will notice a big difference in bottom end and accelaration. They do make powerful cams for trucks that tow. Im kinda in the same boat as to choosing one. I been researching goin on 6 months.

There is a sponsor on here that quoted me $119 for the ring and pinion. Then depends how much someone will charge to put them in if you dont know how to.Usually around a $500 dollar job, but worth it!

Thanks for the info. I just had 4wheelparts quote me around $800.00 for the complete install.

Not sure if i should go with 3.73 or 4.10.

There are way to many options.

I have 305/40/22s on my truck with the factory 3.73s. Pretty nice combo, but if I was doing an install I would probably go with the 4.10s. That's what the SS trucks have with basically the same height tire. Especially if you plan on doing that towing or going with a cam that makes its power in the higher RPM range.
I'm guessing your truck is 2wd since you say it has 3.23s?

Yes, its a 2WD. Should i also go with the True trac to the order? I'm not sure if i need that or not. Its not a race truck but i would like to spin both tires.

Get the truetrac, you won't regret it.
