    cleaning the inside?

no more than my wife drive her truck,im thinking that i am getting a build up of some sort,on a sensor.
this sensor is the one that apparently reads the oil some how some way,im not sure.
but i change the oil in her truck pretty religiously, way before the 3k mark.
just because my truck sees 3k WAY before hers, and when i buy the oil i just buy it by the case (5w30 valvoline)and i figure what the hell just change hers anyways,no big deal,(clean oil cant hurt anything)
so the oil has always been real good and clean.
but i cant ever get the change oil to reset and it is always telling me to change the oil.
i am assuming that the ecm calculates how many starts and stops keys on and key offs etc. then tells you when to change the oil.
but the last road trip i took the change oil light did not come on,due to the fact (i think) because the truck really got heated up and ran for 6hrs non stop on the highway.
so my theory,is that the motor internally needs some sort cleaning.

You have to reset the oil life monitor every time you change the oil, or it will just keep telling you to change it. There is no sensor. The oil life is calculated by engine parameters.

i know this,i try to reset the hell out of it but it will not reset for some reason,i turn the key on and step on the pedal 3 times and it will not reset.
it has reset 1 time by following the standard resetting procedures.
but i had taken a road trip and when i got back it was due the oil change(i keep a mileage chart for my out of town work).
it then let me reset, but sense the road trip,i have had the light come on and tell me to change the oil shortly after, but the truck was not even close to a oil change.
my truck was due so i changed my wifes oil at the same time as i did mine,i reset my truck, but hers will not allow me to reset.

He might deflate if he did .

Check the owners manual, maybe that truck has a slightley different procedure. My truck no longer tells me to change the oil, and it used to. I don't know what happened, but I don't really care. I change it at the right intervals, and now I don't have to worry about reseting the light.
GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT RICER MATH!
