    Weirdest thing.

Well last night i was putting in my new tran and tq, well long story short. I went to go put in one of the last bolts on my trans witch happened to be the passenger top one. And for some reason it would not go it. so i got my flash light and looked dwon my trans to see if i can see why that bolt would not go it. I couldnt see much so i decided to redrop the trans to really see and this is what i found.

What were looking at here is the passenger side top bolt, the phone was tilted to the side to take the pic soo that why its hard to place it. The bottom piece is the bell housing and the top is the engine block. Well anyway what i found looked like to be a plug weld or a broken bolt off in the bolt. but the funny thing is i have no broken bolts and I know I took that bolt out since it the double nut bolt that hold the dip stick. i have no idea what happened here.

Is this some kind of game where we're supposed to figure out what kind of transmission you're installing into a vehicle? There is one hole on all gen3 blocks that doesn't come tapped from the factory, it was there for the 99-2000 6L engines that used the old Gen1 style bell housings. If you're putting a pre-2001 80e transmission into a Gen3 vehicle then you will have one bolt hole that won't match up. IIRC you end up with only four bolts holding the whole thing up if you have an old style bell housing.

yea its a 2000 4l80, but its the hole that hold the dip stick in place. So i have no idea, its the passenger side top bolt not the middle top.
