    4.8 5.3 bore questions

    I have a 4.8 and can get a 5.3 if I want to spend the money. Question is: Arent the block on the 4.8 and 5.3 the exact same? the 4.8 just wasnt bored out as much? why couldnt I bore out the 4.8 to the 5.8 bore or even more? then I would have a larger bore and a quick spinning assembly.

    Same block different stroke and the 4.8 has flat top pistons.

    arent the 4.8 pistons dished and the 5.3s are flat tops?

    it would be a 335

    you could do it but i don't think there is an off the shelf piston that would give you enough compression

    I think hes gonna buy my LS6 flat tops and do an iron LS1
