    2008 5.3 Intake on LQ4.

Has anybody converted their 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 to the newer style 5.3 intake. The one with 90mm TB?
The only thing that concerns me before I buy one, is would the fuel rail from a 99-03 truck fit on the 90mm intake?

Does the 90mm truck TB work with the 03 PCM or does it require the converter?

    Thanks

youll need the adapter for the TB, the truvk TB is 87mm the TBSS i a 90mm, the LS2 car TB is 90mm

the ECM doesnt care what TB you run as long as te pin-outs in the harness read it correctly.

fuel rails i have no idea...but i honestly dont see why not.

I thought there was an issue with the TAC reading the signal from the TB correctly.

I think the fuel rail will work, but hoping someone would know. The rail that is made for this intake would be the returnless style. Maybe I can find out if the 2004 fuel rail is the same part number as the 2008. If so, the 2003 rail should fit on it.

Just curious--why go with the NNBS intake? I know it flows slightly better than the one you have now... But why such the hassle? I would rather go with a FAST product.

The crossover on the fuel rails will not clear the newer TBSS style intake.

Yeah, but the power increase is also higher. If you wanna play, you gotta pay!

Well I can get a NNBS intake for virtually nothing along with the TB. I was thinking if the fuel rail would work I go switch to it for little cost and already have the TB set up if I want to switch to a FAST later.
Honestly, I am not even at the point to need to mess with the intake yet. I need to get my exhaust finished, install my converter get a cam in first.
I can get a hold of some 243s pretty cheap too. Would it be worth it to switch my 317s for them? Might help bring up the compression on the LQ4.

I really just need to sit down and figure out my goals for this engine and what mods I need to get there. I know no matter how much power I make I will want to do more, but I am gonna keep it pretty mild.

You what you will, but spending the time/money to get minimal gains from the intake might not be worth it.

Well, if you wanna stay N/A, then go with the 243s on the LQ4. It will bring the compression to about 10.5/10.6:1.

Make sure to match the cam up to your other supporting mods, e.g. stall, intake, heads, etc...

The intake is not worth it. I have done it and barely noticed the difference. I had to have a custom crossover for the rails. Not worth the money.
