    New Guy

Hello all I am new here. My truck is a 1987 Chevy R10 SWB Stepside but I am here because I am installing a LS1 in the truck. I have not had an engine this new sure I will have a lot of questions. But right off i needed to know if the throttle body will interchange from an 03 to an 01 I need the 01 body because it is cable operated. But as you all already know the 03 is electronic. i know they have the same base gasket but will bolt up?

They will bolt up, but you will need a different harness. Or maybe just delete the dbw wiring from the harness.

DBW ?? Sorry I am new to the LS stuff. That is the wiring for the electronic part? If so that will not be a problem i am having it re-done anyway. Thanks alot.

DBW stands for drive by wire or in other words the electronic throttle body.

yes, they interchange. I have one on a 2006 intake. You have to add a nut to the manifold for the throttle bracket.
