    06 silverado wont start

Hey, Im so confused and have no idea what I need to do with my truck lately. I really not want take to dealership. You know how pricely they are. Id not like to spend to much $ on dealership. FIrst of all about 2 weeks ago I went to track which is first time on my truck. Of course its 5.3 vortec. I did ran real low gas closer to E sometimes the orange light on the fuel gauge. about 4 times to race on the track. It was all fine lately. About one week later. When I stop by breakfast at chicken fila in the morning before I go work. It wont run at all. Sounds like no gas. But the tank is FULL! I went to open the hood and look at fuel rail to bleed. It was good bleed of gas out. Then I would tried to crank up its work.. I did switch fuel relay it does same thing. UNTIl yesterday when I was on way to home from work. My tank about half gas left. It seem tried to died while I was driving. I push some more gas to keep run. It was fine this time. Until I stop the sign. It died. I tried to crank up. It wont. for about 15 mintues finally run. I speed up to get home. So I arrived. I turn off and would see if they would run again. It wont run at all. I gave up. Then this morning Id try do again. It was fine. I drove to gas station to get fill up full gas. It wont run. I called my cousin come by and he can listen the fuel pump which i am DEAF lol. Wish I could hear but only able feel it. HE heard it make a noise the fuel pump. I thought that mean fuel pump still good? If no noise mean bad fuel pump? When he hear the noise I tried to crank. It wont. About few second it run finally. When we arrived home. It did same thing the damn problem. Tell me what exactly caused. Fuel pump? Crankshaft position? PCM bad? THat one Allen Nelson tuned my pcm. I was going to order walbro 255lph from him. But I rather find what a exactly before I buy it! My truck is ONLY 83k mileage its 5.3 regular cab. Hope anyone can give me some idea.

Pump, injectors... either of those could be an issue.

Fuel pump is cooled by fuel in the tank so running it with low fuel can cause it to overheat and fail. Have you tested fuel pressure when running?

Yeah that what I though. Be sure how it work with fuel pressure test. I can go get auto zone to borrow and test it. How I can know what it suppose to show if its bad or good? Can you explain me how it work?

Okay, so far I been some research about 06 silverado. I decide ahead to test each coil pack, while somebody to turn each crank to see if its fire. It does fire each coil as well. It seem getting run each the coil. Must be fuel pump bad or crank sensor? I couldnt find crank sensor at? SO I crank up it run. I drive around a little bit then pull over and turn off and turn on it wont run. Id wait for few minutes and crank up again. It does run. I feel something seem not right.

Its not the crank sensor I don't think. The way it acts, its your pump. Put the fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve on the fuel rail and test it while running, it should be 56-58. Anything lower, bad pump. Test it immediately after killing it, if it drops super quickly, something is wrong. It should hold PSI for at least 10 minutes. Let us know how that goes, and we can help you from there.

Hey My truck got in gm dealership shop. I explained to them. So quick answer it say must be crankshaft position sensor goes bad. Like my dad told me same thing. But I didnt believe my dad first place. After GM told me, I relaized it. I paid $49 for them use their special computer to check it say bad crank sensor. ALSO he puzzled it show code 1,2 banks run to rich. He say thats why gas always eat up. I was like what. I been wonder why run rich? I not sure if he mean 1 and 2 on block or banks show rich. SO all I knew it was Allen Nelson tuned on my pcm. I dont know what he had done on it. Im gonna find out. So Gm say the crankshaft position sensor at dealership cost 89 dollars. I didnt pay. I want to look around that sell cheap. DO you know anywhere I could find? Also where crank sensor at? I been look around. I have no clue ha. Any picture of you have one on it. If you have one. It would be nice to show me so I can know what it is.

I dont understand how you can have the coils firing but the crank sensor is bad. Your Posts are very hard to follow.
