    Almost Done

Getting Close 87 shortbed THE BOX ROCKS
Well guys, getting close to getting this thing running. Here is the low down
1987 TBI ShortBed, ditched the 4.3 V6 for a L33 Aluminum z71 5.3 Motor with 80k. Used Swaptech motor plates with in 1 inch set back position. Running it behind a Th400 with B&M shift kit factory stall.
Decided to go with the carburetor setup. Gmpp intake with Edelbrock 1806 660 carb. MSD 6010 Box. Added C5 corvette exhaust manifolds (if you use these the motor has to be in the 1 inch set back position It is also advised that you get the corvette connector pipe although it will have to be modified) This manifolds only leave a 1/4 inch space between the bottom frame sides. Not running cats - 3 inch piping to a set of used C5 stainless Basinis Exhaust exiting out the middle of the rear.

Added clutch fan for now will install E Fans when I get a Larger radiator ( and I figure how to wire them to a Temperature Relay)

Added 20 inch matte black GFX wheels with spacers on 55 series tires.

Will probably lower it 3 front/4 rear.

Headaches - All that TBI wiring, most will go unused.
I am using the 2005 alternator still trying to figure which pigtail wires do what and how to hook up properly.

I was all in until I read carbed It sounds like a cool project but I just can't understand why people don't reap the rewards of fuel injection. I'm not trying to bag on anyone, I think everyone should be able to do things their own way.

carbs have their benefits as well....

usually make lil more power, a lot easier.

Driveability and maintenance and gas mileage are really only downfalls.... if its a hot rod, who cares about those?
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

None of this makes sense to me.

I find that really hard to believe. Maybe if I were the one tuning the computer vs that carb. I just dont see that. A real tuned computer vs carb? I dont know.

not sure exact science behind it, but it's been proven time and time again. I'm assuming it has something to do with atomization of fuel and air before ever making it's way to cylinder.

injectors are better for gas mileage, and not having to retune for slight weather changes...but a properly dialed in carb will put down more power, assuming the bowls stay full.
