    Another noob

    Another noob checking in. I'm in the beginning stage of swapping my 87 Suburban to 5.3/4L60e to be my tow rig for my 47 Chevy 1/2 ton that I drag race. I've found a lot of good info on here so far just lurking. I'll probably have some questions in the near future.

    The 47 has a 454 out of an 86 1 ton with 396 heads, comp cam extreme grind 234 @50 and 550ish lift, RPM air gap, 850 Demon and NX Hitman kit. 700r4 trans and 8.5 10 bolt with 4.10's, probably going to swap those out for 3.42 or 3.73, first gear is over before it begins it seems. It scaled out at 3420 without me in it and my best times so far are 7.80 at 89 on the motor and 7.14 at 97 on the spray at our local 1/8 mile track.
