Just make sure to get all the air pockets out of the system through the cap. Is it overheating?

Take the coolant hose off the coolant crossover tube, remove the upper radiator hose from the radiator, pour coolant down the radiator hose until a steady stream of coolant comes out of the coolant crossover tube. Reinstall everything and top off the radiator. It helps a lot if the front of the truck is elevated or on a slope.
