    Unhappy Newbie - 5.3 Identification

Hello people! I am new to the LS game but am very excited to learn. I am in the very early stages of a 51 Chevy truck build up with of course an LS/4L60E
motivation. I just purchased a 5.3 with 36k miles on it from an '05 Envoy Denali. I do not have the s/n of the vehicle yet but I have several numbers off of the block that I was hoping may help identify it as far as the still mystical codes I am starting to read about.(LS1, LQ4 and so on) Both numbers are on the driver side/rear of the block. Stamped on the block is T52322311. Cast in to the block is 12569513. Any help or direction to look at would be great.

get a pen light and look in the spark plug hole and see if it has dished pistons or flat tops

I thought that there would be a 5.3/4.8 stamped on the block as well?? At least that's the way mine is.

Ok...this just in. I can not seem to determine if the pistons flat or dished. If I had to guess I would say flat. I did find 5.3L cast in to the rear of the block and also discovered the block was aluminum. With this information I do believe I have a Gen IV LH6. I cant seem to find the stock horsepower number. I only want this to use as a baseline before adding a few go fast parts. From what I am finding out it appears there is a wide range of interchagability between the LS family engines. Thanks for everyone input. If you can add to my finding feel free.
