With the maggie you could just keep stock internals and use the $2k elsewhere. Trans upgrades, fuel pump, injectors, etc. If you are wanting to bore and stroke the 6.0 to a 408, then you could do that as well. For pistons I would go with Wiseco, Diamond or Mahle. I'm sure there are others that are just as good or better, but it all depends on how much you want to spend. You could also just get a full rotating assembly from Eagle which would be plenty but would also run a little over $2k. IMO, I wouldn't go forged unless I started getting into the higher boost levels (10+).

2004 Silverado Crew Cab, forged iron 5.7, STS w/MP turbo, 10+ psi, FMIC, Tial 50mm BOV, Vic Jr, Snow performance meth, MTI Stealth cam .220/.220 .581/.581 115lsa, Comp chromoly pushrods, Yank TT3000 stall, LS1 Efans, 160 tstat, Trucool 40k trans cooler, 60# injectors, Walbro fuel pump, Patriot springs, Built 4l65E w/billet input & output shafts, Eaton posi, SD tuned...all installed by Klein North Automotive

definitely invest in rods or arp bolts if nothing else. but i would go with diamond pistons, they are really good and they will build to match anything you want.
'00 Silverado, '98 Trans Am, and a couple other toys.
