    After the swap...

Now that i have the 5.3 to 6.0 swap done my motor is throwing codes.

It is throwing a MAF sensor code, Knock sensor code, and multiple cylinder misfire code. The motor seems to run fine, it just a tad bit rough at idle.

Is it throwing the codes because I have not had the PCM tuned for the 6.0 yet, or is this something that i should start to look into?

Also, is the proper spark plug gap for the 6.0 .060? I went by what the radiater cover said...

Get your tune updated before you burn it up.

Something isn't right with that setup. Like Red said get that thing running right before you drive it anymore.

Ok, I sent COWl a PM to see if he would do a tune since he is so close(and i only pay cash). If not I will have Wheatley or Nelson do it.

I think it is much more than a tune. Why would the MAF code? What about the misfires? Fuel pressure? Pinched wire? Open or loose ground?

Tonight i cleaned the MAF, so hopefully that will solve one issue.

Next is the misfire. I did some research on here and supposedly the iridium plugs are supposed to be gapped at .040, but i gapped them to .060 because that is what GM called for. Should i close the gap back down to .040? Would that cause it to misfire?

And i know nothing about the knock sensor...

It all seem wierd to me because the motor runs fine, no weird noises, good oil pressure, starts and idles fine; it just a little rough at idle when warm.

Do i need to go back and clean all the sensor connections?

I would make sure all the connections are clean and solid. Make sure the bolts on the back of the engine that the grounds connect to are tight. Check the fuel pressure. Close the gap up a bit.

    K. I will start on this tomorrow after i pick up come electrical connection cleaner. I am pretty sure the grounds on the back are tight, but i may need to scratch them up a little. Or possibly I put them on the wrong bolt...

Should i close the gap to .040?

I should probably have a fuel pressure guage anyways.

You need a tune. We swapped a buddys 4.8 to a 6.0 and his was kicking the same codes, the maf, knock sensor, and misfire codes. After the Np tune it fixed everything.
