    Will my 4L60E hold up?

I've got the LY6 sittin in the garage waiting to go in a 05 z71, the 4.8 in the truck is needing replaced. Was planning on a 4L80e or 6L90. Don't have the time or money to do either right now. I'm planning on having the TM deleted for the 6.0 swap, other than that it will be stock. Question is, will my 4l60e hold up? I will be pulling a small travel trailer some. Other than that it doesn't get drove hard.

    Thanks

Honestly it would only be a matter of time before the 4L60E gave.

    How many miles on it?

    80k on a stock motor?

Once you add/mod your setup for more HP that tranny is a gonner. Give it some abuse and you'll see what i mean. I'm sure other will chime in and tell you their stories also.

Do yourself a favor and do the 4L80 swap. Thats what i'm looking to do before anything.

Does anyone know how the 6l90 compares to the 4l80e as far as ease of swapping? I think I can control the 6l90 w/ the PCM that I got w/ my motor. I've read that the 6l90 is a little shorter than the 4l60e so clearances shouldn't be an issue. Does $1300 seem like a decent price for 7k mile 6l90 w/o tcase?

The 6L is controlled by a TCM and has nothing similar to any of the previous transmissions (except for the Allison LCT1000's clutch to clutch shifting and pattern).
