    98 60e to 80e swap

I'm wanting to swap my 4l60E for a 4l80E because I'm swapping in a lQ4 to my 98 2Dr Tahoe. Now I've heard alot of different answers and I don't want to need to mess around with driveshaft lengths...

Now is it possible to move the 80E to the stock 60E position? Are there any motor mounts that will allow me to accomplish this? Also, My Tahoe has Autotrac Is it possible to mate my existing T-Case to the 80E? Probably need to swap input shafts correct?

There's a different gear or something. Try a search because someone asked last week and there was a link posted by someone showing how to do the swap.

At one point I also thought about moving the entire engine forward. Came back to reality and just bought drive shafts. Yes the autotrac transfer case will swap out with modifications. Change the input shaft in it. Detailed in the thread posted.

How much farther back does the 80E sit? I'd honestly prefer moving the engine to new shafts.

Technically they sit in the same place. The difference is that the 80 and the bigger T/C is longer.....

True, I don't know why I was wording it like that.

So, I found his post on cross member modification HERE. Says he moved it back about 2.5" to keep the engine in factory position. I have no problem having the engine moved 3" forward to accommodate the 4l80E. I plan to run electric fans so I should have plenty of room Does anyone know If any motor mounts will help me accomplish this? I'm not much of a fabricator to say the least

I think I would leave the engine in the proper place and move the crossmember.

Sorry to be so blunt... Why? It just seems alot easier to me to give up a couple inches than having to modify existing shafts.

How much would a new driveshaft usually run? I've read a couple times a 2500 front driveshaft should work so I should be ok there. The rear factory driveshaft probably would not be able to be shortened I assume.
